China’s SAMR Collecting Public Comments on Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling (Draft)

In an effort to standardize labeling practices among food producers and operators, strengthen supervision over food labeling, and promote transparency and consumer confidence in China, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has released the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling (Draft) for public comment.

The draft, formulated in accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementing regulations, is open for public comment until July 27, 2024.

Feedback can be provided through the following channels:

1. Visit the SAMR official website and submit comments in the “Interaction” section on the homepage;
2. Email comments to spscszhc@samr.gov.cn. Please indicate “Comments on the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling (Draft)” in the email subject line; and
3. Mail comments to the Food Production Division, SAMR, 9 Ma Dian East Road, Haidian District, Beijing 100088, China. Please clearly mark on the envelope: “Comments on the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling (Draft).

The SAMR encourages public participation to ensure comprehensive and effective food labeling regulations.
