Analysis of the Notification of National Supervision and Random Inspection of Food-related Product Quality in 2019

    from CIRS by

On January 16, 2020, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) released the results of spot checks in 2019 of food-related products. 3110 batches of composite film bag and other 24 types of food-related products produced by 3097 enterprises were checked. Among them, 2 batches of them are still in the process of objection. And 6 batches of them have been transferred to the local market supervision department because of unlicensed production, over-range production, and fraudulent information of factory. For the quality inspection of the left 3102 batches of food-related products from 3089 enterprises, there were 151 batches of disqualified products with a percentage of 4.9%.

The inspection of food contact materials and products, taking composite film bags as an example, focuses on sensory indicators, evaporation residues (total migration), potassium permanganate consumption, heavy metals (as Pb), toluene diamine (4%(v/v) acetic acid), and other mandatory indicators, as well as total solvent residues, benzene solvent residues, total microorganisms, total bacterial count, coliforms, pathogenic bacteria (referred to as intestinal pathogenic bacteria, pathogenic cocci), mold, barrier performance (Oxygen), barrier performance (water vapor), heat seal strength and other recommended indicators for spot inspection and testing.
