    from CIRS by

    China,MEP,Pirority,Chemical,List,Control

    On 28 December 2017, China Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) published the Prioritized List of Substances to be Subject to Control (1st Batch). The List is prepared based on Water Pollution Control Action Plan released in 2015.

    The Prioritized List of Substances to be Subject to Control mainly covers chemicals that are relatively hazardous as well as chemicals that are persistent and may be harmful to the environment and human health. To control the manufacturing and use of these chemicals, MEP will adopt one or several of the following risk management measures:

    1. Enterprises should obtain the sewage discharge permission before they discharge these chemicals;
    2. The State will restrict the use of these substances in some products and encourages enterprises to use substitutes; and
    3. Clean production audit will be implemented.
