    China's MEE Consulting on the List of Toxic and Hazardous Water Pollutants (Second Batch)

    The Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), in collaboration with the National Administration of Disease Prevention and Control, is seeking public comments on the List of Toxic and Hazardous Water Pollutants (Second Batch). This is in accordance with the requirements of the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China. The aim of this list is to prevent environmental risks, protect public health, and the ecological environment.

    Any comments and suggestions can be sent to the MEE before September 5, 2023.

    Note:

    (1) CAS number (also referred to as CAS Registry Number), is a unique identification number assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) to every chemical substance described in the open scientific literature.

    (2) It refers to hydrogen cyanide, cyanides (primarily cyanides of alkaline metal and alkaline-earth metal) and zinc cyanide compound excluding ferricyanide complex compound, ferrocyanide complex compound, copper cyanide compound, nickel cyanide compound, and cobalt cyanide complex compound.

    (3) Benzo[a]phenanthrene, also called chrysene.
