A Notice on the Adjustment of General Name of FSMP - Regulatory News - Food & Food Contact Materials

In order to further standardize the general name of FSMP, so as to facilitate consumers' memorization and avoid misleading, SAMR has made appropriate adjustment and announced the following matters:

1. From the date of the announcement, applicants shall apply for the registration of FSMP in accordance with the adjusted general name;

2. Enterprises who have already obtained product registration are not required to submit an application for change of registration, the review center of the SAMR shall directly adjust the general name of the product and notify the enterprise to change the registration certificate. For the registration application (including the application for change), the applicant does not need to make corrections, and the review center shall make adjustments during the evaluation;

3. The manufacturers who have obtained product registration may finish the replacement of labels and instructions within 12 months from the date of the announcement. Products with old labels and instructions can be sold until the end of the shelf life.
